Hytrel® TPC-ET 5526
Hytrel TPC-ET 5526 is a medium-modulus thermoplastic polyester elastomer (TPC-ET) with a nominal hardness of 55D. It offers excellent toughness, resilience, high impact strength and outstanding resistance to creep, tearing and flex fatigue. The material maintains flexibility at low temperatures and provides good retention of mechanical properties at elevated temperatures. Hytrel TPC-ET 5526 contains a non-discoloring stabilizer and offers good resistance to oils, industrial chemicals and solvents. It is specially recommended for injection molding applications requiring high flow.
Key Features:
- Medium modulus with balanced flexibility
- High flow characteristics for injection molding
- Excellent toughness and impact strength
- Outstanding creep, tear and flex fatigue resistance
- Good chemical resistance to oils, fuels and industrial fluids
- Non-discoloring stabilizer for improved color stability
- Plasticizer-free with long-term property retention
Processing Form:
- Injection Molding
- Thermoforming
Processing Notes:
Drying is recommended at 100°C for 2–3 hours to achieve a processing moisture content below 0.08%. Hytrel TPC-ET 5526 has an optimal melt temperature of 230°C and a mold temperature of 45–55°C. For extrusion or thermoforming, drying at 100°C for 2–3 hours with a moisture target below 0.06% and an optimal melt temperature of 220–230°C is recommended. Hytrel is incompatible with acetal and PVC. Please refer to the injection molding and extrusion guidelines for additional details.

Key Features of Hytrel TPC
Flexibility & Resilience
Unlike traditional rubber, Hytrel TPC can flex in multiple directions, cycle after cycle, long after rubber would break.
Durability
Hytrel TPC is an essential ingredient in applications that must endure a wide range of temperatures and tough conditions during years of service.
Enhanced Chemical Resistance
Exhibits excellent resistance to hydrocarbons and other fluids, making it suitable for demanding environments.
Sustainable Options
The Hytrel TPC ECO-B series utilizes a biomass balance approach, incorporating up to 72% renewable content without compromising material properties.
