Santoprene® TPV 8211-55B100
Santoprene TPV 8211-55B100 is a soft, colorable, non-hygroscopic specialty thermoplastic vulcanizate (TPV) in the thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) family. It is formulated to bond to ABS, PS, PC, PMMA, ASA, PET and PPO/PS blends, making it ideal for hard/soft overmolding and soft-touch applications. This grade of Santoprene TPV is shear-dependent and can be processed on conventional thermoplastics equipment for injection molding or extrusion. It is polyolefin based and recyclable within the manufacturing stream.
Key Features:
- Excellent adhesion onto ABS, PS, PC, PMMA and ASA (cold insert or 2K molding)
- Designed for superior part surface appearance
- Ideal for soft-touch applications
- Non-hygroscopic; requires little to no drying
- UL listed for plastics components (U.S. and Canada)
- Recyclable within the manufacturing stream
Processing Form:
- Injection Molding
- Multi Injection Molding
- Coextrusion
Processing Notes:
Desiccant drying for 3 hours at 70°C (160°F) can be performed if desired. For two-shot molding, recommended melt temperature is 210–230°C with mold temperatures of 30–50°C. For insert molding, recommended melt temperature is 230–250°C with mold temperatures of 25–50°C. Due to its inherent bonding nature, this material may occasionally agglomerate during shipping or storage. Santoprene TPV is incompatible with acetal and PVC.
Applications:
Automotive, Building & Construction, Consumer Goods
Hardness:
57A
Delivery Form:
Pellets
