Hytrel® TPC-ET HTR8223 BK320

Hytrel TPC-ET HTR8223 BK320 is a medium-modulus thermoplastic polyester elastomer (TPC-ET) with a nominal hardness of 42D (36D at 15s). This black, heat- and light-stabilized grade is engineered for blow molding and other processing techniques requiring high melt viscosity. It offers excellent toughness, resilience and flexibility at low temperatures, while maintaining strong mechanical performance at elevated temperatures. Hytrel TPC-ET HTR8223 BK320 provides outstanding resistance to creep, impact and flex fatigue and demonstrates very high tear strength and abrasion resistance. It also offers good resistance to oils, fuels, solvents and many industrial chemicals.

Processing Notes:
Drying is recommended at 110°C for 3–4 hours to reach a processing moisture content ≤0.08%. Hytrel TPC-ET HTR8223 BK320 has an optimal melt temperature of 230°C (min. 220°C, max. 250°C) and an optimal mold temperature of 45°C (35–46°C range). For extrusion, dry at 100°C for 2–3 hours to reach ≤0.06% moisture and process at a melt temperature of ~230°C. For blow molding, dry ≤100°C with a moisture target ≤0.02% and process at an optimal melt temperature of 235°C. Hytrel is incompatible with acetal and PVC. Please refer to molding and extrusion guidelines for detailed recommendations.

Key Features of Hytrel TPC

Flexibility & Resilience

Unlike traditional rubber, Hytrel TPC can flex in multiple directions, cycle after cycle, long after rubber would break.

Durability

Hytrel TPC is an essential ingredient in applications that must endure a wide range of temperatures and tough conditions during years of service.

Enhanced Chemical Resistance

Exhibits excellent resistance to hydrocarbons and other fluids, making it suitable for demanding environments.

Sustainable Options

The Hytrel TPC ECO-B series utilizes a biomass balance approach, incorporating up to 72% renewable content without compromising material properties.
