Hytrel® TPC-ET HTR8808 BK316

Hytrel TPC-ET HTR8808 BK316 is a high-viscosity, medium-modulus thermoplastic polyester elastomer (TPC-ET) with a nominal hardness of 54D (50–60D range). This black grade is heat- and light-stabilized and specifically designed for blow molding. It provides very strong mechanical performance at elevated temperatures and excellent resistance to most automotive fluids. Hytrel TPC-ET HTR8808 BK316 delivers outstanding toughness, resilience and low-temperature flexibility, combined with high melt stability and reliable processing behavior. The material offers exceptional resistance to creep, impact and flex fatigue, along with strong tear strength and good chemical resistance to oils, fuels, solvents and industrial chemicals.

Key Features:

  • Medium-modulus grade (54D)
  • Black, heat- and light-stabilized formulation
  • High-viscosity material designed for blow molding
  • Excellent mechanical properties at elevated temperatures
  • Outstanding creep, tear and flex fatigue resistance
  • Excellent toughness and impact performance
  • Strong resistance to oils, fuels, solvents and automotive fluids
  • Very low brittleness temperature (–65°C)
  • Plasticizer-free with long-term durability

Processing Form:

  • Blow Molding

Processing Notes:
For blow molding, drying is required at 70–80°C for 6–8 hours, achieving a moisture level ≤0.03%. Optimal melt temperature is 235°C (230–240°C range) with a mold temperature of 50°C (30–70°C). Molding shrinkage (parallel) is approx. 2.4% and (normal) 2.2%. For injection molding, refer to the standard Hytrel molding guide. Hytrel is incompatible with acetal and PVC.
