Hytrel® TPC-ET HTR8797 BK320

Hytrel TPC-ET HTR8797 BK320 is a high-viscosity, medium-modulus thermoplastic polyester elastomer (TPC-ET) with a nominal hardness of 54D (51D at 15s). This black, heat-stabilized grade is engineered specifically for blow molding and delivers excellent melt strength and processing stability. The material offers exceptional toughness, resilience and low-temperature flexibility, combined with strong mechanical retention at elevated temperatures. Hytrel TPC-ET HTR8797 BK320 provides outstanding resistance to creep, impact and flex fatigue, as well as very high tear strength and reliable chemical resistance to oils, fuels, solvents and water. Automotive approvals include GM, Mercedes-Benz DBL5562.AA39 and VW 50123.

Key Features:

  • Medium-modulus grade (54D)
  • High-viscosity blow-molding formulation
  • Black, heat-stabilized material
  • Excellent toughness and impact resistance
  • Outstanding creep, tear and flex fatigue resistance
  • Very good chemical resistance to oils, fuels, solvents and water
  • Low brittleness temperature (–58°C)
  • Meets automotive specifications (GM, Mercedes-Benz, VW)
  • Plasticizer-free with long-term durability

Processing Form:

  • Injection Molding
  • Extrusion
  • Other Extrusion
  • Blow Molding

Processing Notes:
For injection molding, drying is recommended at 110°C for 2–4 hours to achieve a moisture level ≤0.08%. Optimal melt temperature is 245°C (240–255°C range) with a mold temperature of 45°C (40–50°C). For extrusion, ensure ≤0.06% moisture and process at a melt temperature of 230°C. For blow molding, dry at 90–100°C for 4–6 hours to reach ≤0.03% moisture and process at 235°C (230–240°C range). Hytrel is incompatible with acetal and PVC. Please refer to the molding and extrusion guides for full processing recommendations.

Key Features of Hytrel TPC

Flexibility & Resilience

Unlike traditional rubber, Hytrel TPC can flex in multiple directions, cycle after cycle, long after rubber would break.

Durability

Hytrel TPC is an essential ingredient in applications that must endure a wide range of temperatures and tough conditions during years of service.

Enhanced Chemical Resistance

Exhibits excellent resistance to hydrocarbons and other fluids, making it suitable for demanding environments.

Sustainable Options

The Hytrel TPC ECO-B series utilizes a biomass balance approach, incorporating up to 72% renewable content without compromising material properties.
