Hytrel® TPC-ET DYM250S BK472

Hytrel TPC-ET DYM250S BK472 is a medium-modulus polyester alloy elastomer designed for injection molding, with a nominal hardness of 49D (44D at 15s). This black grade contains fine-particle carbon black and is fully heat- and light-stabilized. Developed specifically for airbag deployment door applications, it provides very high toughness, flexibility at low temperatures, and strong dimensional stability due to its TPC-ET/PBT alloy structure. Hytrel TPC-ET DYM250S BK472 offers outstanding resistance to creep, impact and flex fatigue, along with excellent tear strength and durability under dynamic loads. It also demonstrates very strong chemical resistance to oils, fuels, solvents, acids, bases and standard automotive fluids.

Key Features:

  • TPC-ET + PBT alloy for enhanced stiffness and dimensional stability
  • Medium modulus (49D) with high toughness
  • Black formulation with fine-particle carbon black
  • Excellent tear strength and puncture resistance
  • Outstanding resistance to creep, impact and flex fatigue
  • Very low brittleness temperature (–100°C)
  • Excellent chemical resistance across oils, fuels, solvents, acids and bases
  • Heat- and light-stabilized for automotive durability
  • Meets automotive OEM specs (Mercedes-Benz DBL5562.50, Chrysler MS-DB-585)

Processing Form:

  • Injection Molding

Processing Notes:
Dry at 100°C for 3–4 hours to achieve a processing moisture level ≤0.05%. Hytrel TPC-ET DYM250S BK472 has an optimal melt temperature of 248°C (range 235–260°C) and an optimal mold temperature of 50°C (45–55°C). Injection molding shrinkage is approx. 1.2% (parallel and normal). Hytrel is incompatible with acetal and PVC. Please refer to the Hytrel injection molding guide for complete recommendations.
