Hytrel® TPC-ET 7246

Hytrel TPC-ET 7246 is a high-modulus thermoplastic polyester elastomer (TPC-ET) with a nominal hardness of 72D. It offers exceptional toughness, resilience, and high resistance to creep, impact and flex fatigue. The material maintains flexibility at low temperatures and provides strong retention of mechanical properties at elevated temperatures. Hytrel TPC-ET 7246 contains a non-discoloring stabilizer, is light-stabilized, and provides good resistance to oils, fuels, industrial chemicals and solvents. It can be processed using conventional thermoplastic techniques such as injection molding and extrusion.

Key Features:

  • High modulus for increased stiffness
  • High impact strength and toughness
  • Excellent resistance to creep and flex fatigue
  • Good chemical resistance to oils, fuels and solvents
  • Non-discoloring stabilizer for improved color stability
  • Light-stabilized for durability under light exposure
  • Plasticizer-free with long-term property retention

Processing Form:

  • Injection Molding
  • Film Extrusion
  • Extrusion
  • Sheet Extrusion
  • Other Extrusion
  • Casting
  • Thermoforming

Processing Notes:
Drying is recommended at 110°C for 2–3 hours to achieve a processing moisture content below 0.08%. Hytrel TPC-ET 7246 has an optimal melt temperature of 245°C and a mold temperature of 50°C. For extrusion, drying at 100–120°C for 2–3 hours with a moisture content below 0.06% is recommended, and an optimal melt temperature of 235°C. Hytrel is incompatible with acetal and PVC. Please refer to the injection molding and extrusion guidelines for detailed processing recommendations.
