Estane® 58280 TPU
Estane 58280 is a polyether-type thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) compound designed for extrusion and injection molding applications. This grade offers high resiliency and unique physical properties including low tensile set, low compression set and high rebound resilience. Estane 58280 combines flexibility, durability and low specific gravity, making it suitable for applications requiring strong rebound performance and elastic recovery.
Key Features:
- Polyether-based TPU
- Hardness: 79 Shore A
- High rebound resilience (72%)
- Low tensile set and compression set
- High elasticity and flexibility
- Good abrasion resistance
- Low specific gravity
- Good hysteresis behavior
Processing Form:
- Extrusion
- Injection Molding
Processing Notes:
Prior to processing, the material should be dried for approximately 2 hours at 104°C (220°F) in a dehumidifying hopper dryer to remove absorbed moisture.
Typical extrusion temperatures range from approximately 177–210°C depending on processing equipment and conditions.
Purpose:
Application:
Used for cable jackets, hose and tubing as well as resilient molded parts such as wheel tires and rebound balls.
Delivery Form:
